The USM planetarium, Oakie, and Fort Williams

I retired. I know. But since the students do not have laptops, I wanted to be sure to share some of what happened on our trip. I do not have Mrs. Barry's library of pictures from her camera or even Mrs. McCarthy's, so you are going to have to use your imagination.

Upon arrival, we were able to make our way around the construction to the planetarium. "Eight Planets and Counting" was very informative and for many of the students it was their first planetarium experience. It was mine, too (just resting my bus driver's eyes, William). The math and science were a bit jaw dropping at times.

After Mrs. McCarthy cleared the way for take off, we made our way to Fort Williams. Along the way, we got to see Oakie, from Oakhurst, doing a photo op out front on Forest Avenue. Fort Williams was a blast. Students were totally surprised and, again, many had never been before. We had a science lunch and we split up into groups to explore. Interestingly, all the groups ended going up to the same place.

Big thanks to Raina for coming and being part of our day.
