Friday, MESA was visited by Jim Caldwell, a hydrologist with the US Geological Survey and Bob Johnston, a Senior Geologist also with the US Geological Survey.  MESA will be participating in the Maine Cooperative Snow Survey, where each week they will be tasked with measuring the snow depth and weight using a snow tube to determine the saturation level of the snow.  The readings are sent to the state and used to create maps and make predictions when the River Flow Advisory Commision begins meeting in March in Augusta.
