No Wind? No problem.

Barely a breeze to be felt today as a few MESA students ventured to the fairgrounds for some kiting science and instruction from Chris Krug. Today, it was heavy on a the science, as the students learned about apparent wind and why some kites travel through the air faster.

Certainly, we talked site assessment but I was more impressed with how much science Chris dished out and how much the students took in. We started with a demonstration on Chris' new 15m kite, which while smaller than the 19m the students saw him on last year due to its aspect ratio (don't know what that is? ask a student who was there) it has the potential to pull much faster than a larger kite.
