The part of the MESA mission statement reads: The objective of the program is to give students the opportunity to learn about their surrounding environment; to be introduced to the state curriculum standards through authentic experiences that bring standards to life; and to provide personal growth opportunities creating a culture of leadership and teamwork. When considering nominating a student from our school, we wanted to our nominee to not only meet the expectations of the Fryeburg Area Rotary, but instead exceed those standards. With the fortunate problem of having to choose through many deserving individuals, we came to the conclusion that Audra Hamlin stands above her peers.

Audra is an asset to any traditional or experiential classroom. She is extremely diligent and mindful of the work she produces. Moreover, in her free time, she often is to be found creating products that were not assigned by the teacher, but done of her out of her own curiosity. Her contributions to discussion clearly show a never ending need to not only understand, but to also apply concepts. Always prepared for any experience MESA might throw at anytime, Audra is a fountain of positive energy.

Helping any classmate at any given opportunity, she makes those around her better students. Often in MESA we take a line from JFK and "ask not what the program can do for you, but what you can do for the program." Audra best exemplifies that mantra. She is universally respected by her peers for the teamwork and leadership that she brings to MESA.

Afterschool, Audra is one of the members of the girls lacrosse team, a sport she had never done before but thought looked fun. She also plays soccer and has participated in the school play. Audra this past summer went on a trip to Washington DC as a part of her Girl Scout Troop.

It is with great honor that we nominate, Audra Hamlin.
